Matt Gregory has been teaching social and competitive ballroom and Latin dance for nearly fifteen years. Matt began his teaching career at a Fred Astaire dance school in Colorado Springs, Colorado and quickly discovered his natural abilities as an instructor and motivator. In 2005, seeking the training of top coaches and the community of world class professionals, he moved to Southern California.
The move allowed Matt to take his teaching to the next level. Consistently one of the top teachers at any school in which he has worked, Matt has trained some of the top amateur men, women and couples in the United States. His many Top Teacher awards include the Emerald Ball in Los Angeles, the Embassy Dancesport Championships in Irvine, CA, the Desert Classic in Palm Springs, the San Francisco Open, and the U.S. Championships in Orlando, FL. Not only has his own teaching led to personal success, but over the years, Matt has had numerous students take top awards at a myriad of competitions nationwide, including several national titles within just the last few years. In 2008, Matt was recognized as one of the top 20 teachers in the United States.
In late 2008, propelled by a desire to provide a distinctive training environment for his students, Matt opened his own ballroom and Latin dance studio, South Coast Dancesport. As South Coast Dancesport has grown, now boasting a full-time staff of six high level professionals and myriad world-class independent teachers, his focus remains that of providing one of the warmest, most inviting studios on the West Coast, if not the United States.CLASS SCHEDULE Client Log In
